The Musical World of Lerner & Loewe

With My Fair Lady Alan J Lerner & Frederick Loewe wrote arguably the most perfect musical. Premiered in New York in 1956 and gloriously filmed in 1964, the show has become known as the world’s most successful musical and instantly made both the composer and lyricist household names, although some would say they already were having taken Broadway by storm with Brigadoon in 1947. Paint Your Wagon opened on Broadway in 1951, Gigi was released by MGM in 1958 and Camelot opened in New York in 1960.

The Musical World of Lerner & Loewe features four of London’s West End singers and includes the well known songs from all five musicals including I Could Have Danced All Night, Get Me to the Church on Time, Wouldn’t It Be Loverly, On the Street Where You Live, If Ever I Would Leave You, Camelot, I Talk to the Trees, They Call the Wind Maria, Thank Heaven for Little Girls, The Night They Invented Champagne, Gigi, Almost Like Being in Love and The Heather on the Hill.
