West End International created and presented the symphonic concert premiere of Jesus Christ Superstar. Arguably one of the most important and successful musicals ever written, it depicts the last seven days of Christ in a way that is both uplifting and tragic. The vibrant rock score by Andrew Lloyd Webber, with lyrics by Tim Rice, sounds as new and exciting as it did at its premiere over 30 years ago and this glittering production, with a full cast and symphony orchestra, has united audiences and critics in praise.
Directed by Martin Yates, this staged concert features 18 principals from London’s West End, many of whom have played in London the roles they play in this production thereby bringing an exhilaration and authenticity to this symphonic rock experience, rock group and full symphony orchestra.
